During a family Thanksgiving holiday, my dad came in the door with this Juniper branch he picked when he was out for a walk around the lake with his grandbabies. Every time I look at this in the future, I will remember the moment he handed it to me. This is not a moment that can be captured by a photo. It’s a feeling captured by art.
About that same time in my life, and much to my pleasure, my husband took an interest in crafting his own gin. I must say, the man has talent. I didn’t know that Juniper berries are in fact the distinct flavor of this “love it or hate it” spirit. I love it!

A progress shot…

Watercolor teaches patience. It would be easy to give up on a piece that looks terrible in the early stages. All of my watercolor pieces initially look like an absolute wreck. Persevere and a beauty will emerge.
