This is a holiday staple at our house. These pecans don’t last very long. Just a word of warning… ADDICTIVE!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 2 cups Pecan Halves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Water + 1 1/2 tablespoons Water
Preparation
While making these pecans, I always use a wooden spoon.
Combine sugar, cinnamon, pecans, vanilla extract and 1/4 cup water in a pot and cook over medium-high heat. Cook until the mixture almost can’t be stirred.
Remove from stove and sprinkle with the remaining water. This will barely rehydrate mixture enough to create the perfect glaze over the pecans.
Pour the hot mixture on an ungreased baking sheet and spread out the pecans. When they are hard and slightly cooled, add them to a pretty bowl. They will disappear quickly!
